My favorite Halloween movie is, hands down, The Shining. I don't know what it is about this movie that scares the hell out of me, but it does. Perhaps it's the suspense, the music, the's just sublime in its mastery of horror. The opening scene still gives me chills:

Another great Halloween flick for the littles that I've really grown to love is Coraline. it's a great spooky movie, but not too spooky, to watch with the kids.
