Summer of Zombie 2015 SPOTLIGHT ON: Leah
Rhyne
This is my real name, by the way. Once, I googled myself and
found a forum post somewhere about cool stage names, and Leah Rhyne was on the
list. This made me laugh, because – ha ha, I got it first! Legitimately, too! I
didn’t have to make it up.
What is your latest zombie release?
Jenna’s War, which is the third and final book
in my Undead America zombie series.
Quick description of it (no spoilers)
Oh man. Jenna Price is my main girl. She’s survived the
initial zombie outbreak. She’s survived madmen posing as saviors, and a brutal
holocaust in the south. She’s survived the loss of everything and (almost)
everyone she once held most dear. She’s worked so hard to recreate something
close to a civilized life for her and her closest friends.
But now, in Jenna’s War, she’ll be faced with
the end of everything for which she’s worked. She’ll have to go back to where
it all started, New York City, in search of more survivors, in hopes of finding
a cure. And if, along the way, she has to say goodbye to someone special…well,
that’s just life in Undead America, now, isn’t it?
Something unique about it.
In Undead America, it’s not the zombies you need to fear:
it’s the people. That holds true throughout the entire series. While there are
plenty of fun zombies, and lots of blood, guts, and gore, it’s the creepy,
nasty characters who come to the forefront of society that make Undead America
a truly icky ride.

Your short Bio.
Leah Rhyne is a Jersey girl who’s lived in the South so long
she’s lost her accent…but never her attitude. After spending most of her
childhood watching movies like Star Wars, Alien(s), and A Nightmare On Elm
Street, and reading books like Stephen King’s The Shining or It, Leah now
writes tales of horror and science fiction. Her novels include her Undead
Americatrilogy (MuseItUp Publishing, 2012-2014), as well as a modern-day
take on the Frankenstein tale called Jo. She writes for LitReactor.com,
The Charleston City Paper, and for herself atwww.leahrhyne.com.
Leah lives with her husband, daughter, and a small menagerie of pets. In her
barely-there spare time, she loves running and yoga.
